Are you a bad enough dude to brawl your way through the bad streets of Bad Street Brawler?

No truer words have ever been uttered.

You may recognize the lead character as a cross between Hulk Hogan and a butch lesbian. His/her name is Duke Davis, and he/she is described as a martial arts expert and punk rocker.

This game opens with a fairly deep training mode. In training you’re given a punching bag and the choice between “punch” and “sweep kick.” If you’re a good enough street brawler it’s even possible to completely collapse the bag with a single kick.

The game was originally designed to work with a Power Glove, so I wore two of them while playing. They kind of made it hard to hold the controller in my hands, and I didn’t really feel much more powerful while wearing them.

Once I completed several hours of training, and leveled up my player to a level 15 Arch-Wizard, I was able to enter stage 1.

For some reason, right out of the gate this naked man had a vendetta against me. I made short work of him with a few well timed sweep kicks and made my way toward the end of the stage.

At the end of the stage I fought the same naked man, only this time what he lacked in clothing he made up for in endurance. It was an epic struggle and I gained many XP in the process before the nude mini-boss succumbed to a lethal barrage of sweep kick/punch 127 hit combos.

Overall if you enjoy Super Mario Bros., WWF Wrestlemania, Pinball, or Chinese checkers I think this game will be up your alley.

However, if you’re a fan of Mahjong, this game simply can’t stack up to your favorite domino fueled pastime.
